new at target: jason wu

I'm excited to see Jason Wu design for Target. I love Target clothes! When I found out Jason Wu was coming to Target, I had to research his style a little more. Below is his Spring ready to wear 2012 collection . I love the patterns, the neutrals mixed with bright colors, the structure of his clothes and of course, all the bright lipstick :) Check out what he has already designed at Target!

#embellishwear

Okay, so I'm loving Antonio Berardi's RTW Spring 2012 collection. I love the (mainly) solid colors that are broken up with texture (changes in material, beautiful detailing/embellishments, etc.) I also love the shapes and movement in each look. A lot of these looks are both structured and flowy, which balances each outfit perfectly. He is also so creative with the neck/shoulder designs and I love love love the variety. Enjoy!

Weekend Highlights

This weekend I visited a best friend of mine from high school who is working at Cartoon Network in Los Angeles. I felt like all we did was eat... and shop. Haha but what else can you really do in LA!?

Enjoy my Instagram highlights :) - Samantha

1. Spicy Pork Ramen @Santouka Ramen
Authentic Ramen has become one of my favorite foods...I can have it anytime.

2. Bacon Donuts @Cafe Dulce in Little Tokyo, Los Angeles
Not a fan of Bacon desserts but these look AMAZING! Ended up eating a blueberry roti instead though...

3. Standing mixer from Matt for my birthday. I love it. I haven't tried it yet...but I'm sure my wrist will love it since I won't have to cream butter & sugar by hand...

4. Cool paneled mirror @ Barneys New York

Pretty Wear

I'm totally digging Cacharel's Pre-Fall 2012 Collection. Although patterns & prints are completely in right now, I will always have a special place in my heart for minimalism and clean-cut looks. I love the neutral tones, subtle colorblocking and preppy/schoolboy themes in this collection. I love the elegance of the styling; the middle part in her hair, hair pulled back loosely into a low bun, etc. I'm also loving the juxtaposition of seasons--mixing of winter & summer clothes (sweaters with skirts, shorts with jackets, dress with a scarf, etc). Lovely, lovely, lovely!

Homemade Pumpkin & PB Dog Treats

Introducing...my puppy, Dakota!

and meet him at 8 months now...

Yup--my puppy is turning into a handsome doggie! We love him so much; he has been such a blessing to have as a part of our family! He keeps us active (at dog beaches, walks, doggie dates) and meeting new people all the time, he's so fun to play tricks with and he's so sweet & gentle. It's so nice to be greeted with a crazy wagging tail after work and to cuddle with him during movies :)

I love my puppy! That's why I made homemade pumpkin & PB dog treats! They smelled so yummy while baking (but I didn't try one...) and I love that I knew every single ingredient I put inside them. I added oats & flax seeds to add more texture & nutrition to them. Dakota absolutely loved them and we had enough to share with his doggie friends.

The happy puppy :)

Homemade Pumpkin & PB Dog Treats | Slightly altered from original recipe here

Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 cups whole wheat flour
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup canned pumpkin
  • 2 tablespoons peanut butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
    2 tablespoons flax seeds
    3/4 cup oats

  • Directions:
  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Whisk together the flour, eggs, pumpkin, peanut butter, salt, and cinnamon in a bowl. Add water as needed to help make the dough workable, but the dough should be dry and stiff. Roll the dough into a 1/2-inch-thick roll. Cut into 1/2-inch pieces. Bake in preheated oven until hard, about 40 minutes.
